Structural and Logical Design Solution Class Generalization With the Use of Design Procedures Representation Adapted Functionally 000_9.pdf

Design of modern products relating to different subject areas and consisting of a large number of components differs by the presence of the technical requirements to the entire product without separate requirements to its components. The design activity results include complete design documentation and product assembly 3D-model. The process of assembly 3D-model formation includes adding 3D-models of components and establishing conjugations between them. In order to construct, correct, and maintain (update or modify) a 3D-assembly, rebuilding should be provided. Typically, the process is carried out through manually handling of parts parameters and conjugations. That requires additional time and labor expenses. The authors propose the solution of the problem in establishing the structural and logical relationships between the components of the assembly 3D-model on the attribute level allowing to link the components and structural objects. Interrelations between the components allow not only to determine their location and link to each other operating with design parameter values but also to modify the design solution without violating its integrity that is not ensured by any modern cAD-system.
