An Algorithmof Automatic Categorization of Dynamic Surveillance Objects 27_13.pdf

The article describes an algorithm for automatic categorization of dynamic surveillance objects, which can be applied in computer-aided systems for decision-making support in information centres of surface ships under severe conditions of real time at the stage of operational control as well as in subsystems of data processing. The suggested algorithm implements a simultaneous procedure of categorization when a goodness-of-fit criterion for distance under analysis and selection of distances among objects is used as decision rule for segmentation of object set. The article also presents a mathematical model, studies characteristics of component model and iteration scheme of algorithm.

Stable Filtering Algorithmsfor Shipnavigation and Control Systems 27_6.pdf

The article deals with integral filtering, stressing a computational aspect, and gives a brief survey of numerically stable algorithms based on the three mathematical ideas: factorization of positive definite (covariance and information) matrices, scalarization of vector measurements and orthogonalizaiton of block matrices. Their use suggests a new Square-Root Extended Kalman Filter algorithm as applied to non-linear task of sea-target movement analysis. The article also discusses the use of the actual algorithm for navigation and control of ships including collision avoidance.
