Efficient Permutation Decoding of Binary Block Redundant Codes 000_10.pdf

The article describes a method of decoding of binary block redundant codes with the use of ordered statistics, which is implemented in the framework of permutation decoding (PD). Such algorithms are most effectively used in control systems in order to protect data against errors when sending them along the channels subjected to the influence of destructive factors. On the one hand, the advantage of permutation decoding is the possibility of processing of code vectors of the computed equivalent code outside the Hamming metric, which provides a significant energy code gain (ECG). On the other hand, the process of identifying the properties of rearranged matrix linearity of the equivalent code and bringing this matrix to the systematic form in case of confirmation of the properties of linearity, is a difficult task in the attitude of computation. The complexity of the computational process becomes exponential with increasing length of code vectors. In this context, the authors propose a new method for fast matrix transformations to allow normalizing the computational process of finding the matrix of the equivalent block code of virtually any length to polynomial complexity. The authors also introduce the concept of a decoder cognitive map. The probabilistic characteristics of the proposed decoders obtained by analytical modelling of communication channels with various streams of errors are given.

The Mathematical Models of Telecommunication Systems Used in Integrated Information-management Complexes 000_4.pdf

The article considers the method of effective processing of error-correcting codes combinations. The method is based on the possibility of lexicographical partitioning of code words space into clusters. This process allows to realize the list decoding method of code vectors on a regular basis with the use of a single list, which refers to the cluster number zero. The authors show that the vector of any other cluster with simple transformations can be brought to a vector of the cluster zero. The article proves that the method is applicable to binary and non-binary codes.

The Statistical Properties and Features of Formation of Soft Decisions for Redundant Codes Nonbinary Characters 000_5.pdf

The article considers the ways of formation of soft decision symbols (sDs) used in the systems with binary modulation. Through the tests of the original statistical models, the properties of these solutions are described, the possibility of their application to problems of adaptive signal processing is shown. Taking into account the cascade scheme of codec construction, the paper considers the novel problem of estimating the reliability of non-binary symbols based on a comprehensive assessment of decoding results of internal code combinations and statistical parameters of sDs obtained for these combinations from continuous channel.

Methods of Reducing Intranetwork Load in Distributed Storage Data Systems 000_4.pdf

The constant growth in the volumes of generated and processed information and the transition from classical ways of representing and processing data to the concept of Big data is linked with the need for long-term storage of large and very large volumes of information. In modern distributed data storage systems it is a widely accepted approach for data replication, which has a number of advantages. However, the use of this approach requires a large number of repositories, the total memory of which must be proportionally greater than amounts of data stored. This paper examines alternative approaches to data warehousing based on the use of error-correcting codes that allow reducing the costs of the equipment while maintaining a comparable level of reliability. The article discusses the concept of constructing locally decodable codes that allow reconstructing of system individual nodes, involving a limited number of remaining nodes which reduces the load on the data network. It is also presented the apparatus of regenerative codes, which allow to reduce the load on the network, so that the redundancy of system is approaching MDS-codes.

Hardware Implementation of the Optimal Ldpc Decoder 000_14.pdf

Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes become more useful in modern infocommunication systems because of their error-correcting capability. At the present time, LDPC codes have reached Shannon’s limit. Moreover, the application of such codes unlike the turbo codes don’t have any license limitations. These factors have become the cause of growing interest to LDPC codes. Despite an easy way of the codec implementation, soft decoding of LDPC codes is a complex computational process. This article deals in more detail with the main problems concerning the hardware implementation of LDPC decoder and the ways of their solving. It also demonstrates the simulation results of different ways to decoder implementation and the comparison of these ways. Furthermore, the article presents the method of LDPC codes list decoding that reduces materially computational load on decoder and speeds up its work operation. The use of various procedures and mechanisms described in the article will help to generate the optimal LDPC code decoder designed for a certain task.

Unification of Redundant Code Decoding Algorithms in Integrated Information-management Systems 39_2.pdf

The increasing requirements for control of integrated information-management system elements are caused by the need of application of communication protocols that are heterogeneous in terms of organization and control cycle duration. Thereupon, it is reasonable to use a set of error-controlled codes differing in redundancy, and processed on a common hardware platform, in similar systems to prevent errors in real-time information. To implement this concept it is expedient to use short block codes. They are applicable in the process of small data transmitting and they can be easily transformed to protect a large bulk of data using the cascaded coding technology or on the basis of product codes in 3D or in higher dimensions. The code sequences shortening at specified requirements in terms of data adequacy leads to a need of the flexible synthesis of information on signals received from a continuous communications channel and of soft iterative algorithms of the selected redundant codes processing. Polar code constructions meet this requirement. The paper offers to use the proper code combinations space clustering in order to reduce the polar code combinations processing time interval. The text gives valuable information on a clustering mechanism and cluster number security variants when transmitting over a noisy channel. The authors present the results of polar code decoding simulation models testing using different algorithms that demonstrate the benefits of the proposed data processing method under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratios compared to canonical schemes required for redundant code decoding.

Estimation of Hardware Processing Costs in a Method of Soft Algebraic Decoding of Non-binary Codes 37_6.pdf

The paper shows estimation of the implementation complexity for the algorithms of algebraic decoding of non-binary codes by giving an example of Reed-Solomon codes. Advantages of soft data processing methods over traditional models of decoders with error-correction are given. The introduced redundancy can be used at the asymptotic capability edge. The paper also suggests a suboptimal data processing algorithm to minimize the risk of decoding error. This algorithm uses a provocation method, which calls a predictable decoder reaction while correcting a deliberately erased symbol with the reliable index of soft decision. There is a significant gain in efficiency of signal-code processor in receiver due to reduction of hardware costs in computation of the error locator polynomial and its solving by regular method instead of fitting.

Intelligent Hierarchical Information Security Risk Management in Protected Special-purpose Multiservice Networks 37_10.pdf

The main approaches to the elaboration of intellectual methods and algorithms synthesized on their base for the assessment and risks management of the information security for protected multi-service networks are considered. The priority for improving such network structures is the efficiency enhancement of the management cycle, the management reliability and the expediency of the responses to the external destructive impact on the network. It is shown that the diversity, the heterogeneity, the incompleteness, the high dimensionality and the inaccuracy of the input data used in the network security management tasks predetermine the necessity of the use of means and methods of the artificial intelligence, in particular, the construction of the prediction analysis generated by the expert, which are formalized as fuzzy sets. Within the framework of this model the hierarchical interaction management tasks are developed and proved. The conceptual provisions of intellectual information security risk management network are provided; the intellectual multi-agent framework for the risk assessment of the network threats as well as the algorithms of their functioning are developed. The study results of the numerical mathematical modeling of the functioning of the intellectual multi agent relating the assessment of the threats to the information network security network are presented.

The Formation of Relaxed Solutions in the System of the Broadband Channel With Qpsk–qam 33_11.pdf

A relevant problem of a soft-decision indexes (SDI) forming for non-binary codes consisted in the signal sets under its processing at the non-stationary channel output is settled. On the one hand, the increasing of positions in such sets leads to the system data rate rise, but on the other hand, it reduces the Euclidean distance between the points of signal constellation. Such contradiction is resolved by choosing a reasonable modulation rate in combination with the means of transmitter error-correction coding and soft code pattern decoding by the receiver with SDI.

Effective Decoding of Non-binary Codes Using Erased Element Provocation Method 32_13.pdf

The findings of decoding algorithms for 2D turbo-codes using a method of inner code combinations iterative transformations are presented. It provides the use of redundancy brought into the code at the border of asymptotic code’s abilities. A method of provocation is applied for the testing of final decoding result reliability. It aims to call a predictable non-binary code decoder reaction while correcting an erased code symbol with known parameters. The receiver performance increasing is provided by a fast non-binary code decoding without a trial method application while calculating error position locators.

The traffic is interpreted as nonsteady random process of exponential class. The proposed algorithms operate in near-real-time mode and with quality that is comparable to potentially achievable one. An Optimization of Iterative Data-transform Procedure 29_1.pdf

The article presents results of researches into algorithms for iterative transforms of antinoise codes. Such decoding procedures result in a considerable increase in performance of soft-decision decoding.
