Permutation Decoding in the System of Coherent Networks 55_12.pdf

The principle of matching high-speed optical communication systems at the data link layer using permutation decoding of redundant codes is considered. The expediency of such an approach is proved when applying the cognitive data processing procedure. Author indicates the parameters of such systems. Considering the widespread use in data exchange systems and in automatic control systems, in computing systems and similar computing devices of non-binary noise-resistant Reed- Solomon (RS) codes, a subtle analysis of the complexity of decoding such codes using the permutation method is carried out. The estimation is made according to the number of code vectors of elementary arithmetic operations performed in the decoding procedure. Two approaches are compared: firstly, the classical principle of decoding RS codes, secondly, the permutation decoding method using a cognitive map. It is shown that the results obtained for rearrange decoding can be generalized for other code structures, including those implemented on the basis of binary codes. Various approaches to the formation of soft solutions for non-binary symbols of RS codes are presented and a likelihood ratio method is proposed which is based on comparing the obtained sequence of estimates of a non-binary code symbol with some predetermined reference set of estimates. The expediency of using the analyzed method in a number of important applied areas is proved.

Creation of Regenerative Codes and Local Codes on the Basis of Production Codes With Even Parity 53_4.pdf

Tasks on optimal problem solving in the selection of noise-resistant coding schemes arise when designing and developing new data storage systems (Storage). Storage reliability, redundancy, data availability, the amount of data traffic that occurs in the conditions of failure of individual storage devices can be referred to the criteria of optimal Storage. Methods of correcting coding, traditionally used in Storage, do not allow to achieve multi-criteria optimality for all described parameters. The use of regenerative and locally decoded codes is a solution for a problem of finding the optimal approach to correcting coding. The paper presents an approach to the implementation of the construction of regenerative codes based on the use of the product of codes with a simple test for parity with the shift of control characters of storage areas. The proposed method allows to reduce the load on the data transmission network in the cases of reconstruction procedures of lost storage devices. The method of construction of locally decoded codes on the basis of the product of codes with parity check of any dimension is also presented.

Generalized Procedure of Brightness Comparison of Printed Circuit Boards Images of Radiographs 000_10.pdf

The article describes an approach to automated visual inspection of printed circuit boards including one on the basis of their radiographs. The authors analyzed the characteristics of x-ray images of printed circuit boards. The paper shows the lack of efficiency used in the framework of the task of verification of radiographs, the existing methods comparing two images by analyzing a histogram or search of keypoints. Based on that, the authors propose a new algorithm for the verification of printed circuit boards based on the comparison of their radiographic images. The comparison is based on the iterative procedure of matching of the binary representations of the studied images and their subsequent fragmentation. The obtained fragments are subjected to an iterative luminance mapping. Generated matching results are suitable for further expert studies with the use of automated systems. The algorithm allows to achieve high accuracy mapping. The authors consider the main features of the algorithm enhancing the performance of its work and the quality of the matching of the processed images. In the paper we propose some optimization of the algorithm.

Hardware Implementation of the Optimal Ldpc Decoder 000_14.pdf

Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) codes become more useful in modern infocommunication systems because of their error-correcting capability. At the present time, LDPC codes have reached Shannon’s limit. Moreover, the application of such codes unlike the turbo codes don’t have any license limitations. These factors have become the cause of growing interest to LDPC codes. Despite an easy way of the codec implementation, soft decoding of LDPC codes is a complex computational process. This article deals in more detail with the main problems concerning the hardware implementation of LDPC decoder and the ways of their solving. It also demonstrates the simulation results of different ways to decoder implementation and the comparison of these ways. Furthermore, the article presents the method of LDPC codes list decoding that reduces materially computational load on decoder and speeds up its work operation. The use of various procedures and mechanisms described in the article will help to generate the optimal LDPC code decoder designed for a certain task.

Unification of Redundant Code Decoding Algorithms in Integrated Information-management Systems 39_2.pdf

The increasing requirements for control of integrated information-management system elements are caused by the need of application of communication protocols that are heterogeneous in terms of organization and control cycle duration. Thereupon, it is reasonable to use a set of error-controlled codes differing in redundancy, and processed on a common hardware platform, in similar systems to prevent errors in real-time information. To implement this concept it is expedient to use short block codes. They are applicable in the process of small data transmitting and they can be easily transformed to protect a large bulk of data using the cascaded coding technology or on the basis of product codes in 3D or in higher dimensions. The code sequences shortening at specified requirements in terms of data adequacy leads to a need of the flexible synthesis of information on signals received from a continuous communications channel and of soft iterative algorithms of the selected redundant codes processing. Polar code constructions meet this requirement. The paper offers to use the proper code combinations space clustering in order to reduce the polar code combinations processing time interval. The text gives valuable information on a clustering mechanism and cluster number security variants when transmitting over a noisy channel. The authors present the results of polar code decoding simulation models testing using different algorithms that demonstrate the benefits of the proposed data processing method under conditions of low signal-to-noise ratios compared to canonical schemes required for redundant code decoding.
